Connectivity Checker

The Connectivity Checker option checks for proper connectivity along piping runs. It should be noted that Modeler checks for connectivity during normal routing activities. Reasons for improper connections are most commonly a result of moving or copying components, then improperly placing them at new locations.

The Connectivity Checker can be launched from the following locations:

Piping Ribbon: Checks for disconnects on piping components for the entire model.
Pipeline Manager: Checks for disconnects on selected pipelines.
Trayline Manager: Checks for disconnects for CableTray components.
HVAC Ribbon: Checks for disconnects for HVAC components in the entire model.
HVAC System Manager: Checks for disconnects on selected HVAC components.

Disconnects are flagged with a red box next to the component as well as the record highlighted as shown. The details of the disconnect are displayed in the pane below it. Open End records are also highlighted as shown. An overview of the results is displayed in the prompt section at the bottom of the dialog.

Setting	Description
Zoom In	Click this button to zoom into the selected component in the grid.
Isolate	Hides all components except the selected component. Toggle the option again to return to the previous view.
Highlight	Highlights the selected component in the model.
Display View	Select one of the following options to determine what is displayed in the grid: Show Errors: Shows only the connection errors in the model. Show Open Ends: Displays only the components with open ports. Show All: Displays all of the piping components in the grid.
Show Spec Grid for missing fasteners and seals	If there are multiple fasteners/gaskets available in spec, then this option displays the Spec Record Selection dialog when repairing joints through the connectivity checker.
Fix Disconnects	The Fix Disconnects button only displays when a disconnect is detected and can be repaired. Repairs can be made in the following situations: When fasteners are deleted but a physical proximity between components and a joint relationship is there. When fasteners are displaced during a move operation etc. When there is a physical proximity between components but no joint relationship (fasteners may or may not be present.) Note: The physical proximity is based on a tolerance value setting in configuration variable (OPM_CONNECTIVITY_TOLERANCE) set in the Workspace Configuration dialog.
Close	Closes the dialog.
